Frequently asked questions
Help with your account, calendars and cleaning team.
Getting started
What is MyTurnKeeper?
MyTurnKeeper turns guest checkouts into cleaning jobs. Property managers connect booking calendars, assign their cleaning team and set cleaning windows. Team members see their assignments, receive updates and mark cleans completed.
Who can join?
Property managers and cleaning team members can create accounts. Connect with people you already know using private invitations, or find available team members through the optional directory. Directory profiles are private by default; a connection request must be accepted before property assignment and messaging.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. MyTurnKeeper works in your phone’s browser and on desktop. You do not need to install a separate app.
How much does it cost?
The plan is $5 USD per month per account, with a 14-day free trial and no card required to start. A manager can add multiple properties for the same price. Team members can connect with multiple managers under one subscription. Payments in this early-access release are test mode only; no real charges are collected.
Can I use one account for both roles?
Roles are separate. If you need to act as both a property manager and a cleaning team member, create separate accounts using different email addresses. Each account has its own subscription.
How do service areas work?
Cleaning team members add service areas in Profile. Select a country and state/province, enter a city, then choose the entire city or complete postal codes. Add more areas as needed. Managers search using a property location, with an option to browse the same state/province. This is a text match, not a distance search.
Who can see my contact details?
Directory results show your name, general location, availability, service areas and introduction. Email and phone are shared after connection. Property addresses, instructions and entry codes are available only to the manager and the authorized assigned team member.
How do I invite someone?
Send a private invitation from Cleaning team or Managers. Either person can invite the other. The recipient must use the verified email address that received the invitation. Links expire after seven days; unused invitations can be revoked.
Properties and calendars
Can I add a property before assigning a team member?
Yes. Add the property and its booking calendars first. Imported cleans remain Unassigned until you assign a connected cleaning team member. Each property has one assigned team member in this version. Managers can also save an optional Entry Type (Lockbox or Keyless) and Entry Code. Entry codes preserve leading zeros and symbols and appear in authorized property and cleaning details.
Which booking platforms are supported?
You can connect compatible HTTPS iCal calendar links, including Airbnb and Vrbo exports. Copy the platform’s exported iCal link into the property’s calendar settings. MyTurnKeeper does not need your booking-platform password.
Can I connect more than one calendar?
Yes. Multiple booking feeds can be connected to a property. Matching checkouts for that property and date are combined into one clean. Conflicting dates may need the manager’s attention.
How quickly do booking changes appear?
A new calendar attempts to load immediately. Background updates are scheduled every five minutes, but timing depends on the booking platform and processing backlog. Refresh calendars requests processing on the next background run. Updates are not guaranteed to appear instantly.
Will the first import email every cleaning job?
No. The first successful import does not send scheduling emails, even if it succeeds after an initial failure. In-app updates and normal cleaning reminders can still appear. Later changes follow notification preferences.
Do blocked dates create cleans?
Clearly blocked or unavailable dates are skipped. Recognized stays import by default. If a feed’s events are ambiguous, the manager should review its import setting. A failed download preserves the existing schedule.
Does MyTurnKeeper change my booking calendar?
No. It reads booking feeds to schedule cleans. Changing a cleaning date does not change a guest reservation in Airbnb, Vrbo or another booking platform.
What happens if I remove a calendar?
You will review the affected jobs before confirming removal. Today’s and future unfinished jobs supported only by that calendar are deleted. Earlier jobs, all completed jobs and jobs still supported by another connected calendar remain.
How do holidays work?
Property managers choose a required Country in signup or Profile. Country choices cover supported countries across the Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Built-in holiday support remains United States federal holidays only; selecting another country does not add its holidays automatically. Team members see national holiday calendars from their connected managers’ countries. Holiday calendars lets you show or hide them. Holiday names are reference information and never create or move cleans. Actual holiday dates and separate observed weekdays can both appear.
Cleaning jobs
How are cleans scheduled?
A recognized guest checkout creates a clean for the checkout date. The property’s cleaning window supplies the start time and same-day deadline. The job is automatically assigned to the property’s team member.
Do I need to accept every clean?
No. New jobs are automatically assigned. Acknowledgment is reserved for changes to an existing job’s cleaning date, time window or timezone.
What does Awaiting acknowledgment mean?
The job’s schedule changed and the assigned team member has not yet acknowledged the update. Acknowledge change confirms that you saw it. Another effective change requires a fresh acknowledgment. You can still complete an eligible clean directly.
Can I change just one cleaning window?
No. Cleaning windows are set for the whole property. Updating the property changes eligible future unfinished jobs. Already-started windows and completed jobs are preserved.
Can a manager change a cleaning date?
Yes, before its cleaning window starts. The property’s window still applies on the new date. Once the window starts, ordinary manual date changes are locked. A manually chosen date stays in place through later checkout-date changes, but a cancelled booking can still cancel the clean.
What happens if a booking changes after cleaning has started?
MyTurnKeeper preserves the existing clean and asks the manager to review the booking change. The manager can apply the change or keep the current clean. Completed cleans remain locked.
Who can mark a clean completed?
The currently assigned, connected team member. Future-dated cleans cannot be completed. Photos and completion reports are not required.
Which timezone is used?
Each clean uses the property’s configured timezone, shown in its details. The calendar’s Today highlight follows your device’s local date.
What do the calendar colors mean?
Cyan means Scheduled; blue-gray means Awaiting acknowledgment; teal means Acknowledged; green means Completed; orange means Unassigned. Cancelled jobs are faded and crossed out. Hover over a legend item, focus it with your keyboard, or tap it for an explanation.
Your team and messages
How do I message my team?
Open Messages and choose a connected manager or team member. Each pair shares a private text conversation. The menu shows unread messages, and an open conversation refreshes automatically. This version does not support attachments.
What happens after we disconnect?
Affected properties become unassigned, and access to current assignments ends. Completed-work reports and existing message history are retained. The conversation becomes read-only while disconnected. If the same two accounts reconnect, they can use their existing conversation again.
Can I see contact details?
Connected team profiles include relevant name, email and phone details. Team members can add an optional location, which is shown on the manager’s cleaning team list.
Why do I still see account setup?
The setup panel disappears after your profile, email verification and a team connection are complete. Managers also need a Country in their profile. It can reappear if a step becomes incomplete.
Notifications and reports
Which notifications are available?
Email and in-app cleaning updates are available. Settings lets you choose your preferences. Text-message, WhatsApp and device-push delivery are not yet available. Essential verification, password-reset and invitation emails are still sent.
Why has an email not arrived?
Email is delivered in the background and retried if delivery fails, so it can arrive after an in-app update. Check spam or junk folders. For a missing account email, request a new verification or password-reset link when needed.
How do I read notifications?
Overview shows Received, Property, Notification and Cleaning details. Changed values appear as previous → updated where applicable. Open a notification for full details and a link to the cleaning job when it is still available to your account.
Which month includes a completed clean?
Reports use the actual completion date in the property’s timezone. A clean scheduled for October 31 but completed November 1 belongs in November. The scheduled cleaning date is also included.
Can I download monthly reports?
Yes. Both participants can view their completed-work reports while their membership is active, filter the results and download CSV. Use Print / Save as PDF for a PDF copy.
Do reports survive property or team changes?
Yes. Completed records retain the participants and information saved at completion. Reports remain available to the original participants after disconnection, reassignment or archive, subject to active membership.
Can I create invoices?
Not yet. Monthly completion reports can help you prepare invoices elsewhere. MyTurnKeeper does not currently invoice managers or collect cleaning payments on behalf of team members.
Account, billing and support
What happens when my trial or paid membership expires?
Only Billing remains available. Other account features become inactive, but your data is retained. There is no grace period. Confirmed successful payment restores access; simply returning from checkout does not.
How can I manage my subscription?
Use Billing to subscribe, update your card, view receipts or cancel through Stripe’s hosted portal after setup. The current release supports test payments only. Never enter a real card into test-mode checkout. Credit and debit cards are supported; ACH and an annual plan are not offered.
What happens if I cancel?
Cancellation stops renewal. Access continues through the existing paid period, then becomes Billing-only. Cancellation and subscription actions currently operate in test mode.
How do I change my email or password?
Open Profile. An email change finishes after you verify the new address. Changing your password requires your current password and signs out other sessions. Passwords need at least eight characters without mandatory complexity rules.
How do I report a problem or suggest a feature?
Use the bottom-right chat button and choose Report a problem or Suggest a feature. Active signed-in members can send a message with their account name and email. You will receive an on-screen confirmation. The button does not provide AI answers or live chat.
